Grabbing Jessamyn's keys, Meredith called out "I'm off to check out that apartment I told you about!" as she headed for the door. From deep within the house Meredith could hear the steady clicking of keyboard keys and a mumbled reply that she thought sounded like 'Good Luck'.

Meredith grinned as she slipped on her light pink Gucci jacket, flipped her hair out from beneath the collar, and shook her head. It had been fun, getting to know her agent a little more personally, but Meredith was definitely ready to live with someone more her speed. And, with luck, this guy Matthew would be that person. He'd certainly seemed like her type, even if he was regrettably not going to be lusting after her, but maybe that was a good thing in disguise. It would mean that, if he liked her, he liked her for something other than her sexuality.

Flipping the AC on as soon as the car was started, Meredith took a moment to log into Jessamyn's GPS Navigation System and entered the address. The island might not be that big but Meredith was new enough that she wasn't quite sure how to get there yet. The ride was surprisingly short.

The apartment building had an underground parking garage attached so Meredith pulled up and found herself a parking spot. A quick check of her makeup, hair, and teeth in the rear-view mirror and Merry was good to go, but as she stepped out of the car door, she suffered a moments hesitation as she realized she'd forgotten a very important fact.

Damn, what was the apartment number again?

Straightening her gauzy, white summer dress with its delicate pattern of cherry blossoms, Meredith decided to give Matt a call before she went up. Luckily she'd added him to her address book. Pulling her cell phone out of her purse, Meredith leaned against Jessamyn's sporty little black car and gave him a ring.

Matt stepped out of the shower in just a towel in time to answer the phone. "Hello?" He asked, dripping wet and somewhat annoyed that his quiet time was disturbed.

Though he was expecting a call about the apartment, maybe it was her.

[On The Phone]
Meredith winced subtly at Matthew's tone of voice as he answered. Though she didn't know him all that well, it was clear that he was annoyed. She unconciously began to play with the ends of her long red hair, twirling it loosely about her short but well manicured fingertips, as she replied "Hey. Matthew? This is Merry... Meredith, do you remember me?"

"Oh. Yeah, about the apartment. Right." His tone shifted to somewhat more cheerful. He'd have time to finish masturbating showering before she got over, most likely.

"You on your way, then? " Matt asked. "Third floor, apartment thirty-seven." .. in a row., He added silently.

Re: [On The Phone]
Oh, thank God, she wouldn't have to ask him. She already felt like enough of an airhead without him knowing she'd forgotten which apartment.

Smiling, Meredith began to walk toward the bay of elevators "Right," she said. Pressing the up button she added "I'm on my way."

"No problem." He answered. "I'll throw some pants on." Matt hung up and managed to get a pair of pants on before she arrived, figuring going shirtless wouldn't bother the girl any.

[knock, knock, knocking on my door]
Flipping her phone shut, Meredith entered the elevator and pressed three. She chatted politely for a moment with a girl who was on her way back up from the basement laundry room but the ride was a short one.

Before she knew it, Merry was in front of number 337. Two short, firm taps on the door to signal her arrival. She shrugged out of her jacket, more for something to do besides play with her hair while she waited, folding the light jacket over one arm. A faint breeze whispered over her bared back, along her shoulders, across her arms, around her calves, from some hidden ventilation duct.

Re: [knock, knock, knocking on my door]
Matt answered after a few minutes, toweling off his hair. "Hey. " He said, stepping aside to let her in, his gaze taking her in from top to bottom. Were he not gay, he had a feeling that he'd tap that. Or something.

"You must be Meredith. I'm Matt, c'mon in and have a look."

[Down, Girl, Down]
"So, there's truth in advertisement after all," Meredith thought as she returned his once-over. He was certainly as sexy as he claimed. If everything else was true remained to be seen.

In her heels, Meredith was nearly the same height as Matt, so the first thing she'd noticed when he opened the door was his face.

A piercing gaze, fine high cheekbones, and lips that clearly said 'Come fuck me' without uttering a word. Merry wouldn't have been surprised if even some straight men had not been tempted to sway over the line for the promise of a blow-job from him. A faint sigh escaped her own lips.

Eagerly, her eyes swept down over his half clothed body. Soft skin, with hints of sharp bone and tight muscle beneath, made her teeth ache to nibble and bite tiny imperfections into his perfect body. Drops of water still beaded here and there. A quick flick of her tongue wetted her suddenly dry lips.

The pants he wore, good quality material, teased and hinted with swells and creases and a small gap between the waistband and his taunt abdomen.

Meredith's salivary glands kicked back in then, going into overdrive at the flash-fast-fantasy of what might be beneath that dark material. Of what she might do to what was beneath that dark material. She had to swallow quickly.

Her perusal ended at his bare feet. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips at the sight of them. Jolted her enough out of her own lust to greet him in return.

Mere seconds from the moment he opened his door, Meredith smiled at Matt in a polite-friendly way, the heat she felt banked through much labored practice, and said "Thanks, and call me Merry. Meredith is just so formal, don't you think?"

Stepping past him into the apartment, Meredith did a quick glance around before turning back to her, hopefully, future roommate. "It looks great. You've got a good eye," Merry compliment sincerely.

[Piece of Meat]
It was as if he knew. Well, really. How could he not? He heard the barely audible sigh, and racked her up to the 'girls who try and sway me to the straight side' pile. Other girls had tried. He'd had more than a few pairs of breasts shoved into his face. Damn near suffocated, in fact.

"Take your time. Could take the pants right off, if you want."

His stormy eyes glinted mischievously, and he grinned, obviously not insulted by her long gaze. He liked her already.

"Thanks. Had enough money to do better than the low, low income places. Figured I'd treat myself. " He shrugged. "Rent's half, plus half of the bills. And if you wanna go half on food, I love cooking. " The grin widened. "I'm a pink frilly apron away from bein' someone's housewife."

He took a moment in case she wanted to let that image sink in. "So. Interested?"

Re: [Piece of Meat]
"Take your time. Could take the pants right off, if you want." he'd said. But really, Merry wasn't that much of a masochist, so she'd ignored the teasing comment.

"Sounds reasonable. And I am most certainly not a cook so I'll take you up on that grociery bill offer as well," she said, draping her jacket over the back of the couch and dropping her purse onto its seat, almost as casually as if she were already living there.

"I'm a pink frilly apron away from bein' someone's housewife."

Meredith chuckled smoothly, her lips curled up into a grin, and replied "Frankly, I'm surprised no one has proposed yet. You seem to be the complete package." He cooked. The house looked clean even though she hadn't really announced her intent to look the place over today. And, well... he wasn't hard to look at by any definition.

Steering herself carefully away from dangerous territory, Merry asked "Could I take a look at my room before I give you a firm answer?" That's where she'd be spending a majority of her time here, after all.

Re: [Piece of Meat]
"Aw, shucks. Yeah. Apparently, I wasn't enough into S&M for my last boyfriend." He said, shaking his head with that amused look in his eye. "That, and my lack of a leather catsuit." Matt led her towards her bedroom, which was slightly smaller than his own, but not by much.

"So, here it is. Enough room that if you put your bed on that wall, we can't hear each other havin' sex."

"Ah, a bed ... damn, I knew there was something I was forgetting," Merry said, mock-earnestly, but the curve of her lips ruined the effect totally.

She shrugged her shoulders as she wandered further into the room. "Not that I need to have a bed to have sex, but it's nice to sleep on one, so... maybe you could point me in the right direction of a furniture shop? You know, since I'll be needing one here and all."

"Yeah, too bad you're not a cute boy with a lovely ass." Matt commented. "I'd let you share mine." He smirked.

"There's one a few blocks over, I think they're havin' a sale. You could pick one up." Matt ran his hand through his half-dry hair. "So, you movin' in, then?"

Re: [Seal The Deal]
"You know, that offer almost makes me wish I were a man," Merry said, her voice holding a tinge of wistfulness... that is, right up until her own smirk emerged.

Eyes dancing, Merry added "Until I remember how utterly fabulous we women are."

It was a shame, really, when a persons wiring didn't allow them to fully appreciate everything around them.

Sure, it had taken her a few moments to remember, he really was a distractingly beautiful man, but Merry knew first hand that Matthew was missing out on something great. Women.

Idly stroking the soft, sensitive skin of her own wrist, Merry nodded. "Thank you. Yes. Just let me know when, and I'll get my agent to deposit my half of the rent into your account," Merry said agreeably.

Re: [Seal The Deal]
"Hn. I'd have to beg to differ, love. I'm just not into the whole 'vagina' thing. I mean, I was in one once, and there was fluid and blood and screaming.. " He shrugged. "After that, well." Matt looked her up and down. "Though, tell you what. If I decide to try again, it'd be with someone like you. You're bloody gorgeous."

He nodded. "Sounds good to me. Move in whenever. If you want, I'll stop off at the market and pick up something for dinner."

Re: [Seal The Deal]
"Hmm, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Because for me 'fluid, blood, and screaming'? Bring up a few really mind-blowing memories," Merry said, her grin wide and white. And it did too. Although not exactly in the context he'd stated.

"Aw, that's sweet of you to say, hun," Merry said as she reached out and tucked her arm through his. "Not a snowball's chance it hell it'd actually happen. But sweet of you to say," she continued as they walked back out into the main living area.

"That sounds like fun. I'll just let Jess know what's going on, maybe swing by that furniture shop, and then you can tantalize my tastebuds with whatever you wish," Merry said, disengaging herself from him to pick up her jacket and purse from the couch.

"What time is dinner served?" she asked.

Re: [Seal The Deal]
"Depends on the situation, I reckon." He nodded. "But I didn't have good memories of it." He laughed softly and kissed her cheek. Yep, he liked her. "I'm thinkin' roast beef, with a huge tray of Yorkies.. some mash, and gravy?" He asked, and made some mental notes.

"Six. That okay?"

Re: [Seal The Deal]
Meredith laughed. "The only 'Yorkies' I know of are tiny long haired dogs. But the rest sounds fabulous," Merry assured him, as she shouldered her purse and draped her jacket over her arm.

She moved toward the door. "Six it is then. I'll be here," she replied with a bright smile.

Re: [Seal The Deal]
"Well, that's what I meant." He said calmly. "Nothing brightens up a dinner like some tiny long-haired dogs tossed in the oven." Matt grinned slightly. "They're a pastry. Go great with roast beef. Sorry. I'll try and cut down on my slang."

Pause.

"..you Yank."

Matt nodded and headed into the kitchen, already mixing things into a bowl. "See you then, love."
